Newborn Gift Registry ~ Denver Newborn Photographer
I’m so excited to announce the registry program for expecting mommies! Gift Certificates have always been available but now you can actually register with MiMi Photography. Let your loved ones know that you are registered with MiMi Photography so they can purchase Gift Certificates to use towards your final print & product purchase. It is simple and easy! Once your Newborn Session is booked you can sign up for the program. You will receive complimentary shower invite stuffers to send out letting everybody know that a gift of photography is something you would truly appreciate. Each of your gifters will receive a complimentary 5×7 (of your choosing) once your session is complete. It’s sort of a little thank you from both you and I for their gift to you. The first two weeks of life are so precious and gone all too quick. Nobody can tell you how much this is so, you have to experience it for yourself. Capturing and preserving those moments for all of eternity is my absolute passion, and it would be an honor to do so for you. Registering with MiMi Photography is a fantastic way to build up credits towards items such as Custom Birth Announcements, Brag Books, and Albums. Nothing will make your heart smile like a large print of your precious new little miracle hanging on a wall in your home as art. Weather this is your first baby or your fifth baby the gift of photography is one that will last a life time. We need to get your session on the calendar according to your EDD as early as possible, so booking your session around the same time you are planning your shower works quite well. The Registry program is complimentary once your Newborn Session is booked. Your loved ones will purchase Gift Certificates online that will be sent directly to their home, so that they have a beautiful gift to present to you. If you or someone you know is expecting a precious gift in the coming months let them know how easy it is to register with MiMi Photography!

Northglenn Colorado Family Photographer ~ MiMi Photography
A few months ago a friend of mine asked me to donate to A WALK TO REMEMBER’S online auction, so I did just that! This is the awesome family who had the winning bid on the Portrait Package. Their two little boys were silly and a complete joy to be around. The were extremely well behaved too! I was a little worried about that, as 3 & 6 year olds can be difficult to photograph at times. There were moments during the session that the boys were not all that into it, but at the end they wouldn’t stop posing, it was too cute!! Mom & Dad, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you and your boys! Enjoy your sneak peek, I’ll have your entire gallery ready soon!

What We Did ~ a 52 week project ~ Brighton Photographer
i am SOOO SOOO SOOO behind on my 52 week family project “what we did” for the most part we’ve kept up on the photos but i have not been blogging them or jotting down our week’s happenings. this entry is going to be short, but full of photos! most of these were taken with one of our phones
but the purpose of this project isn’t to capture technically perfect photos, it’s to document what we did as a family.
I hated how all of these turned out, but thought this one was cute. Dirk wanted to help make dinner.
On our way to…
Out for an evening walk.
Photo booth at a b-day party.
We watch a lot of movies, but rarely down in the basement, not sure why cause our TV down there is quite large, and the one upstairs is tiny.
Mia learned about Rocket Ships in school this last week. Today she went to a b-day party at Michaels, we saw some rockets there and decided to get one.

Wedding at Breckenridge Lodge and Spa ~ Brighton, CO Photographer
I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of this darling couple as a 2nd shooter with Lisa McKendry of Story Lens Photography. These two were absolutely adorable and so in love! They met multiple times in the past and it seems that fate eventually brought them together in Breckenridge, CO. It was an absolute pleasure & complete joy to take part in their beautifully special day, thank you!

Holiday Mini Sessions ~ Photographer, Brighton Colorado
It’s that time of year again! MiMi Photography is booking Holiday Mini Portrait Sessions. These 30min sessions are limited and will fill up fast! They are taking place AM & PM on both October 15th & October 23rd. There is no Session Fee for the Holiday Minis. The main purpose of these sessions is to obtain images for your holiday cards and/or to get some of your holiday shopping done early! You must commit to the lowest package but can upgrade if you wish, to get more goodies J You must pay a $100 retainer fee to hold your session date/time. Once your session is completed the $100 will go towards the purchase of your package. All items will be delivered by the end of November (around Thanksgiving) so that you can send your Holiday Cards out in a timely manner. Can you imagine having the brunt of your Holiday Card process done in October? I know that the Holiday Season sneaks up on me soo fast! So fast in fact, that I don’t send cards out at the end of the year, I have made it tradition to send out “Happy New Year cards” because I just can’t get with it prior to the first of the year. And even then it’s often a struggle… Shoot me a message when you are ready to book! I need to know your top two date/time choices, just in case your #1 has already been booked, and I’ll get you on the calendar!

What We Did ~ Brigthon Colorado Portrait Photographer
Another week bites the dust… The BIG news is that I started school this week! I’m taking one class on campus and one online. I’m excited but can’t wait til its over all at the same time
Surprise, Surprise… I can’t remember anything else from the “week” and neither can Chad. Saturday was a very, very LONG day for me, and I’m worn out!!! I was hired to 2nd shoot a Wedding up in Breckenridge the very same day the US Pro Cycling Challenge was in town. I left way early to beat and to avoid traffic, and the 2hr drive that I expected to take 3hrs, only took an hour and a half
The Wedding was Beautiful and the Main Photographer, well she’s FANTASTIC! Chad and Miss Mia spent the afternoon and evening at his Mom’s annual Mexican Fiesta. Sunday was typical and we hung around the house.
here is an out~take
it’s not easy to get everybody looking at the camera!
What We Did ~ Colorado Custom Portrait Photographer
Monday…. we went to the “open house” at Mia’s new PreSchool, and let me tell you that it was the most unorganized mess. I’m not all that thrilled about this new place and the jury is still out, I may find another for her. On the positive side, she seems to really enjoy it and two of her friends go there. Tuesday was our 12yr anniversary! It’s hard to believe we’ve been together for TWELVE YEARS!!! Absolutely blows my mind… I spent the rest of the week sneaking around and planning a surprise party for Chad. A special thanks to our friends Matt & Christy, if it were not for them I wouldn’t have been able to pull it off! Chad spent the week pulling the engine out of his totaled Accord, and special thanks to his good friend Nathan, because with out Nathan, Chad wouldn’t have been able to pull that off, or “out” I should say. Chad’s back is still pretty messed up and he still can’t do a lot of things he could before the accident. Friday was Chad’s birthday!! Mia and I went shopping for him, and she picked out two lil monster trucks so they could play together.
Saturday morning and afternoon we hung around the house, and I finished up things for the party. That evening Mia went to a friend’s for a sleep over and I took Chad out for a Sushi Dinner. After dinner we were going to come home and watch a few movies, or so Chad thought! Instead we came home to a house full of people! It was fantastic! And I want to thank everybody that came! We didn’t get to bed until 4am!!! It’s been longer than I can remember since I’ve been up until 4am, the one game of poker we got started took FOREVER!!. Sunday was a very lazy day and we watched the movies that we had rented to watch after dinner on Saturday. I’m happy to report that neither of us had a hang over! I SOOO thought that I was going to have a wicked hang over!!!
Perfectly In Love ~ Commerce City, CO Photographer
Saturday evening two very good friends of ours got married! They are so sweet together and as the title says “Perfectly In Love.” The day was beautiful, as was the wedding and the Bride! I wish you two many, many years of happiness to come as you start your new journey as husband and wife, may you cherish each other always! Love you Three!
What We Did ~ Brighton Colorado Portrait Photographer
Another busy weekend down! Well, almost. Last week I came up with a BRILIANT plan (if I do say so my self) to make notes in my phone so that I can remember the week’s events. Do you think I remembered to do that? NOPE! I told you I can’t remember the previous night’s dinner… I know we worked all week, and Mia went to Daycare & Preschool, but that’s all I’ve got for the week. Oh, I remember Thursday!! On Chad’s way home from work Thursday he picked up his Tux for Saturday’s Wedding. We then went to Texas De’Brazil, one of our FAVORITE places! I had snagged a groupon a few months back that we needed to use before the end of the month. Friday evening was the rehearsal and dinner at the Bride’s Parents house. They have a pool… Mia LOVES water to NO end, she’s a lot like her daddy. We had some good BBQ, good times and good swimming. Saturday morning was my company picnic up at a neat lil place just south of Ft.Collins. We had an entire (lil) island to ourselves. Mia had a blast in the water, again. We took a paddle boat and canoe out on the lake, and Mia jumped with the other kiddos on the water trampoline. We had to leave a lil early to head back home and get ready for the wedding that Chad stood up in. It was an absolutely perfect evening for a wedding, and absolutely perfect the wedding was. The company was awesome, the best man speech rocked, and the food was SOO good! Today (Sunday) I cleaned the house and Chad worked on the slew of vehicles we have… That’s all for now!

What We Did ~ Brighton, CO Photographer
Week 3. YAY! So far I’ve been making mental notes thru the week so that I can Blog about our happenings, but I am drawing a complete BLANK today! Maybe because it’s Wednesday of the following week and not Sunday… I think I’m going to have to start keeping notes in my phone. I can’t remember what I had for dinner the night before, not sure what makes me think I’ll remember a week’s worth of stuff! I know last week was busy but all that I can remember is that I got a precious Newborn Gallery up, and landed another 2nd shooter gig!! Appointments on my phone are for recycle day and payday
so no help there for the week. We had a very busy weekend tho! Saturday Chad spent the day with the boys. They played paint ball most of the day, had dinner at Famous Dave’s (YUM!) and wrapped up the evening at a poker party, all events of a Bachelor party. Saturday morning I had a photography gig helping out a fellow photog. She needed me to photograph the Cattle after the Beef Show at the Adams County Fair. During the gig my Dad took Mia to breakfast and then the three of us hung out for a bit at the fair. Mia rode some of the carnival rides and a pony,
she LOVES pony rides!!! After the carnival we had some girl time (cause daddy was having a boys day) with Cousin Emery and Auntie Missy! The girls played inside for a bit as we waited for it to cool down outside, then we went out and splashed in the pool before going to Chick-Fil-A for some dinner and Play Place play. Sunday was spent with good friends at Water World! Chad and I were talking and we can’t remember when the last time we’d been to Water World… We decided it had to have been more than 6yrs ago!
What We Did ~ Denver Photographer
This past week FLEW by and we were quite busy. Monday was fairly uneventful, which was nice. Tuesday was Mia’s first day of PreSchool! She is pretty shy but had fun, and I’m sure she will warm up with a bit of time. One of her good friends goes to the same PreSchool, tho they are not in the same class they will still see each other in the morning and afternoon on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Mia will continue to go to daycare the other three days a week. Wednesday evening we met friends at a new lil water park here in town. It was the first time we had been, but didn’t get to spend as much time there as we had planned, due to a bit of a storm that rolled in. Speaking of storms I heard that we are suppose to get some more crazy rain over this next week… ”They” are not always right, so I suppose we’ll see! Thursday Mia went on a field trip with PreSchool to the Butterfly Pavilion where they have a tarantula named Rosy that Mia held. Mia held Rosy once before at Disney’s Kids Expo back in March. I can’t believe she holds that thing, but she is quite fascinated with bugs so I suppose it really should be no surprise. Friday Chad had another Dr. appointment for his back. He doesn’t seem to be getting any better… Up until then I was making him appointments based on the number of times in a week he’d tell me he didn’t sleep or was in pain. The Dr. told him that he must come in no less than every two weeks. I’m still mowing the lawn and trying to keep him from doing things that will hurt his back, but it’s hard and I feel like I’m constantly scolding him. It’s hard to go from being active to not doing things that seem so simple. I never thought I’d ever scold my husband for simply thinking about vacuuming! Saturday Morning Mia went to a trial gymnastics class, she had a ton of fun but I wasn’t too impressed with the way the class was ran. That afternoon we went to a Birthday Party for the twins across the street, the lil cuties are a year old already! That night we went downtown with my dad to BDs Mongolian Grill, and after dinner walked down the16th StreetMall to Pinkberry for some frozen yogurt. Sunday Mia spoiled us and let us sleep in super late and then we spend the rest of the day doing things around the house. I couldn’t decide on just one image for this weeks’s “What We Did” so I put together several from our night out on Saturday.
Play Date ~ Denver Portrait Photographer
I met Autumn, of Autumn Cutia Photography, just recently. She’s super fun, sweet, smart, and talented! She is stepping into the Wedding Photography industry, and if you ask me about shooting your wedding, Autumn is who I will send you to; with hopes that you will work a 2nd shooter into your package, so that I will then get to shoot your Wedding after all! But if not, my feelings won’t be hurt and you will be thrilled with your wedding photos! I really enjoy 2nd shooting for Autumn, we have a similar style and mesh well together.
A few weeks ago I wanted to go downtown and do a lil shooting and location scouting so I asked Autumn if she wanted to go along. It was a blast spending the evening chatting and shooting… we did more chatting but that’s ok! It was definitely nice to get out and talk shop with someone who’s work I admire. I can’t wait for another play date!
What We Did ~ Brighton CO Photographer
I have attempted a few different projects in the past and have never been able to complete them. But… I’m attempting another! Some photog friends of mine did a lil 30 day project that inspired me to do this one. I have decided to capture a photo each week that is related to something we have done. My husband is on board, which is KEY to this project’s success. I hope that because this project will, for the most part, be a family affair and will be a good way to keep a lil personal journal going.
This past week was quite busy and HOT! Last Sunday our AC quit working and wasn’t fixed until Saturday! Thankfully my dad had a lil window unit that we were able to put in out bedroom for a few nights and the other nights it cooled down a bit with a breeze coming thru. I had two Photo Sessions this week, one an Engagement and the other a Newborn. Friday night Daddy went out with friends from work. Mia and I had a girls night and did some shopping, because that’s a girl thing to do.
Saturday afternoon Mia went to a Birthday with her Grandpa and had a BLAST! Sunday was spent doing things around the house. We checked a lot of things off of our ToDo list this weekend and closed the evening with a stroll thru the neighborhood. Mia is getting pretty good on her Strider Bike, she kept calling us “Slow Pokes” and telling us to “Catch Up!”
23 Days New ~ Brighton Newborn Photographer
This new Lil guy made his appearance into this world three weeks early, and is perfect in every way! I’m happy to say that he didn’t have any major issues accompanying his early arrival. Mom and Dad wanted to incorporate a few things that are meaningful to them into the session and we had a lot of fun with it. Lil O was a complete gentleman and cooperated effortlessly. O’s Mommy use to work with one of my sisters and was referred to me by her. I am blessed to have some very awesome family members who are extremely supportive, and I want to give a THANK YOU to each and every one of them.
you all know who you are
And thank you to O’s Mommy & Daddy for letting me come hang out with them for the afternoon! Enjoy your sneak peek, and I will be in touch!
Perfection ~ Denver Engagement Photographer
Love is in the air! Four blog postings in a row filled with Couples!
I met Gabrielle almost three years ago when I worked with her mother, and I can’t tell you how utterly THRILLED I was to find out that she wanted me to do her Engagement Session. First I was thrilled to hear she was getting married, and second I was thrilled because I know how fun, cute, stylish and always put together beautifully she is. Gabrielle and Zach chose a beautiful mountain setting for their session and brought along the idea of setting up a picnic. From the moment we met at the location til the moment we parted, these two radiated love. Another idea for their session was to incorporate the dances they have been learning for the Wedding Day. It was such a fun session! Gabrielle and Zach, I wish you love that will last a life time!
Dustin + Paula ~ Denver Photographer
It was an absolute pleasure to 2nd shoot a wedding for Courtney Lee Photography up at the beautiful Cheif Hosa Lodge in Golden. The small and very intimate venue was absolutely beautiful! The decor was very outdoorsy and rustic, it was absolute perfection! This is the second Wedding I’ve 2nd for and it was just as perfect as the first. I have to admit, I have come home from each one a lil more in love with my own husband. Dustin & Paula thank you for allowing me to tag along with Courtney during your special day, I wish you a life time of happiness! Thank you too Courtney! I had SOO many favorites that it was so hard to narrow them down for a sneak peek, and this is way overboard!

I also want to thank the Beautiful Bride for allowing me to tag along during her special day, I wish her all the happiness in the world! New Beginnings ~ Denver Photographer
A few years ago my Husband’s oldest brother moved to Utah. We were sad to see him go, as Mia adores her Uncle to no end. Little did any of us expect but he would fall in love about a year after being there, and we couldn’t be any happier for him! Some how unbeknownst to me until shortly before the wedding, I was recruited as the photographer! YAY!!! I don’t shoot weddings but was thrilled to do this for them! Besides it gave me an excuse to rent a camera I’ve been wanting to get my hands on for some time now! The husband and I took some time off of work and drove to Utah for the wedding. Once we arrived we met our Sister~in~law to~be for the first time. We had a lovely dinner and chatted the evening away. Mia instantly took to her new Auntie after her typical shyness wore off. The Wedding was at Eccles Mansion in Ogden Utah. The ceremony was quaint and perfect! Wendy asked the two who introduced her and Kenny to be their witnesses, and their children stood up with them. Kenny and Wendy I wish you all of the happiness in the world and a life time of fun! Welcome to the family girls!!
New Lil Man ~ Henderson Newborn Photographer
I got to meet this Lil Man, his Mommy & Daddy, as well as his Grandma this past Saturday! It was a pleasure to meet them all. Newborn sessions are “HANDS DOWN” my favorite, and this one was no exception. Lil T was a whopping 8+lbs when he was born 10 days early. I was surprised to find this out because he seemed so teeny tiny to me. Had I known this combined with the fact that I was not going to be able to photograph him until he was 2wks old, I’m not going to lie, I would have been a lil worried. But the worry would have been for nothing, he was absolutely perfect the entire session! T was awake for the first little bit, but once he fell asleep he was all the curly sleepy newness I could ever want. He was a breeze to work with, awake and asleep. When I walked into their home I thought for sure I had stepped into a show home, it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! In the front room there is a wall full of family portraits, the complete extended family. When I saw that, I immediately had a shot in mind. T, being the good boy that he is, humored me and didn’t make a fuss as we laid him on a table. To see these images you will have to visit us on FACEBOOK, you will love these! I PROMISE! Mom & Dad, it was fantastic to meet you T and his Grandma this holiday weekend! I will have your gallery up ASAP, enjoy your sneak peek.
Mountain Location ~ Broomfield Photographer
I work with the Daddy of this adoriable lil family, and met his beautiful girlies for the first time during our session. He told me that they would really like to have a mountain setting for their portraits. I recruited my hubby in the mission to find the perfect location for these Iowa natives. I couldn’t be any happier with the location he found for me! Infact we went back there on Mother’s Day to hike. We had to reschedule this session once because it rained way too much prior to our arranged time, and it was going to be pretty cold. I typically do not like to reschedule a session unless we get to the location and determine it’s just not the right conditions. Yesterday was a lil “iffy” if you were to base your opinion on the forecast and the sky, but it went off with out a hitch! A & J it was a pleasure to photograph you and your lil princess! Princess J gave me a run for my money, she did NOT want to look at me for anything! Enjoy your sneak peek, I will have your full gallery up by the end of the week!
Denver Childrens Photographer ~ MiMi Photography
I spent a few fun filled hours chasing two lil darlings around last evening. I can’t think of any better way to head into Mother’s Day than with these two lil girlies. This is Miss E is my 2yr old Niece. Her B-day was a few months ago but we put off her session for a bit to wait on the spring greens. I’m sad that the green is still not in full swing, but i’m sure it will be by the end of this month.

PEEK~A~BOO…. I SEE YOU!

This is the FIRST photo I have of the two of them together, looking at the camera. Aren’t they sweet?!?!

My “girlie” sister ended up with a rough and tough lil chick~a~dee, who walks thru stickers barefoot and naps on rocks, and I ended up with an overly sensitive girlie girl, who loves “swishy” skirts and flowers. Go figure!

it is what it is 4:52 GREEN ~ Denver, CO Photographer
As I said in the last posting I LOVE <3 LOVE spring!!! I was a little worried about this week’s word but quickly realized I had seen a little green poking up on one of my rare trips outside the previous week. I really love our neighborhood spring thru summer. The trees, flowers and grass are all amazing and make me smile every time I come home. I planted 50 bulbs between our front walk and house last fall and was a little worried that they wouldn’t come up. I am thrilled to report that they are indeed coming up!! I’m sure they will appear somewhere on the blog in the postings to come.
Don’t you just LOVE Jenn’s photo of “green” ?!?! Her lil man is as darling as can be, <3 him!
Maybe this week’s word should have been LOVE since it was over used in my posting haha!

it is what it is 3:52 RESTAURANT ~ Brighton CO Photographer
SICK. That is what I have been for almost a month now! And I’m so ready to get back to normal. Spring is my absolute favorite time of year and I’m beyond ready to get out of the house, but I need to start feeling better to do it!
I am horridly behind with all things photography related and I feel just awful about it all. I want to specially thank a patient mommy who has been waiting over 6weeks for her gallery to go up. I am ever so thankful that I’ve had some of the most patient and understanding clients thru this entire ordeal! I promise that every single thing will be caught up by the end of this week! All galleries will be up and all orders will be shipped!! And again I apologies immensely for the past month’s neglect.
On to the photos for this blog posting, another thing I am way behind on. Restaurant was week three’s random word. The image I had in mind was similar to what I ended up with but not quite. I wanted to find a place with floor to ceiling windows and have one of my adorably pregnant friends sitting at a table just inside of the windows. I then wanted the focus to be on her baby bump. I choose Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, but when we go there I realized I wouldn’t be able to get the shot I envisioned w/the baby bump because the windows were not floor to ceiling. L I took a test shot to get my camera settings ready as we waited for my friend and her family to show up, and got this week’s adorable submission. I just <3 that little face of hers.
